The till, the shelf, the regulars, and the books behind the counter.
A till that never lets the 18+ rule out of sight, a catalogue that knows a single malt from a lager, stock that counts and shows what to reorder, members with a gold QR, and a shop window on the web (a window, not a checkout): one console in the store's own colour, on the same books every NuAi business keeps.
The shop's till and catalogue in your trade's words, with responsible selling built in.

A day at Corner Bottle Store
Open to close, on one slip.
Corner Bottle Store is our demo bottle store, built and walked on the live system with test sales. Every screen below is that system.
-
09:05: The first sale
The cashier signs in with a PIN and rings up the sale: cash, card on the shop's own card machine, or both, with the 18+ reminder always in view. A tax invoice or a receipt for every sale.

The till at Corner Bottle Store -
10:30: Drink Aware at the counter
Drink Aware teaches the counter the units, the law and serving responsibly, in the same system as the till.

Drink Aware at Corner Bottle Store -
11:45: A delivery comes in
The supplier's delivery lands in stock at its cost, with its VAT in the books.

Purchase orders at Corner Bottle Store -
14:20: A regular's gold QR
Regulars are signed up at the till in a minute (name, mobile, e-mail, consent), and a scan of their gold QR finds them at the counter for their stamps or points, whichever the shop chose.

Loyalty at Corner Bottle Store: how the shop rewards its members -
19:00: The cash-up
The day closes with the cash-up: the cash counted against the till and judged by the shift's own cash, a big difference on the owner's bell, and a Z report for the shift.

Later: The VAT, from the same books
Every sale of the day is already in the books, and the VAT return is worked out from them in SARS's own boxes.

What a bottle store runs on it
- An 18+ reminder on every sale at the till
- Drink Aware: units, the law, serving responsibly
- The Cellar: your trade's own library
- The Exchange: a TV board of what is moving, never a price
- Liquor worlds in the Smart Catalog: a whisky carries its style (single malt, blended, bourbon) and strength, a wine its vintage, region and grape, a beer its style
- Stock that shows what is short and drafts the order, knowing what is already on the way
- Counts by scanning the shelf, with the differences shown before you approve them
- Customers 360: who buys what, and who has gone quiet
Where it stands
Built and walked on the live system with test sales: the till, the catalogue and stock, and a VAT return worked out, marked filed and its refund recorded (nothing was sent to SARS). No real trading yet.
