Nu Ai (Pty) Ltd

Why partnership matters here

Our tenants aren't enterprise — they're small specialty operators. They have one card terminal, one accounting workflow, one franchise-group affiliation. Whatever they bring to NuAi at signup, NuAi has to integrate into.

We don't ask tenants to swap hardware. We don't ask them to drop accountant relationships. The integration story is the partnership story.

Built with three canary tenants — multi-week production runs on real financial data

One cannabis dispensary, one food & beverage operator, one specialty retail tenant. Multi-week production runs across 14,000+ stock movements, 7,200+ orders processed, 206 SAHPRA-compliant dispensing events, IFRS-balanced books with auditor-grade general journal posting (Dr cash → Cr sales by revenue account → Cr VAT payable → Dr COGS → Cr inventories), trial balance reconciles to the cent.

No customer logos here — we're not at scale yet. But the canary tenant evidence is real production data, not staged demo numbers.

Smart Capture

Document intelligence with cryptographic audit trail.

Photograph a supplier slip with your phone. NuAi reads the supplier name, date, line items, total, and VAT — and validates the supplier's VAT number against SARS requirements. The journal entry posts atomically: stock updates, cost records, VAT control, AP balance, document archive — one operation, accountant-clean.

Every document receives a six-level cryptographic HMAC fingerprint at ingest. Duplicate submissions are detected and blocked automatically. The same slip cannot be claimed twice — not by accident, not by design.

AINS

AI intelligence layer, not a chatbot bolt-on.

AINS — the Nu Ai Intelligence System — runs across every tenant on a single AI substrate. It reads supplier documents, watches margin drift, scores reorder urgency, predicts customer churn, and powers the Group Portal's network-wide analytics. Same engine, different surfaces.

This isn't a chat widget. It's the data layer's intelligence. Operators ask AINS questions in plain English about their actual stock levels, real margins, transaction history. Group operators ask AINS questions across their entire network. The answers come from live data, not training memory.

Multi-vertical data model

One platform. Three industry worlds.

F&B tenants get an ingredient world — recipes, allergens, batch traceability, HACCP risk levels, cold-chain. Cannabis dispensary tenants get a strain world — SAHPRA Section 21 patient register, Schedule 6 dispensing log, prescriber linkage, cultivar metadata. General retail tenants get a SKU world — multi-unit pricing, wholesale tiers, landed-cost FX.

Same codebase. Same database. Different schemas, different UI flows, different compliance surfaces — selected by industry profile at tenant onboarding. Apicbase is F&B-only. GrowerIQ is cannabis-only. NuAi spans all three on one substrate, with one AINS, one Group Portal, one document-intelligence layer.

Color-coded QR substrate

One QR system. Multiple semantic uses.

NuAi's QR system isn't a feature — it's an infrastructure layer. Every QR is HMAC-signed, tenant-scoped, expiry-aware, and routes through one Edge Function. Different colours signal different semantics. A few examples:

Gold QR

Member onboarding + product authenticity. One scan: verifies the product is genuine, registers the customer for loyalty, captures consent for marketing — all in a single tap.

Blue QR

Stock-take and warehouse operations. Staff scan a shelf or a pallet QR; on-hand counts update live; variance reports auto-generate.

Menu QR

Browse the shop catalogue while you wait. Scan in-store, see live stock, place an order from the table. The same QR works for the menu, the order, and the pickup confirmation.

Shift QR

HR clock-in that can't be faked. Staff scan a shift-specific QR; the platform logs phone GPS location at scan time. Off-site clock-ins are flagged for the operator. Timesheet fraud becomes hard.

South African specialty operators arrive at NuAi with the card terminal they already have. We don't ask them to swap. NuAi supports two paths to in-store card terminal integration — together they cover essentially every realistic SA SMB tenant scenario.

PATH A

Cloud-routed (Stitch)

For bank-acquired Android-based POS terminals

For tenants with Pax, Verifone, Ingenico, or Castles terminals provisioned through their acquiring bank. Web POS integrates direct via Stitch Terminal API. No bridge app. Simple deployment.

Charge requests flow from web POS to Stitch to the terminal. Settlement flows back through the bank's existing acquiring relationship. Reconciliation is automatic.

PATH B

Native bridge

For vertically-integrated terminals

For tenants with Yoco, iKhokha, or Paystack Terminal hardware they don't want to swap. Tiny native app pairs over Bluetooth using the vendor SDK. Web POS dispatches charge requests to the bridge via Supabase Realtime. Tenant keeps their existing terminal.

The bridge is a thin pass-through — minimum viable footprint, vendor-SDK-only, no business logic. NuAi's POS remains the surface; the bridge just translates.

Together, both paths cover essentially every realistic SA SMB tenant scenario without forcing hardware swaps. We're partnership-shaped to integrate with both directions: cloud-routing partners and vertical-integration vendors. We do not ask either to give up control of their relationship with the merchant.
